As the miles roll by

A smile spreads across my face

Old memories flood my mind and thoughts

 

Time spend together

Like looking over photographs

Only never to fade away

 

A perfect memory of us, just as if yesterday

I pass a special spot

Just off the highway

 

A tear wells up in the corner of my eye

But if you look closely

The twinkle still exists

 

Ill let a tear, just one, fall down my cheek

For the memory is a fond, funny one

Close to my heart, full of life and fiery passion

 

Our time may be up, but I’ll relive our passion

In my memories our passion will never die

Mental photos will never fade

 

Close to my heart you will always remain

But that chapter of our lives is now done

This I now accept

 

But never dwell in the past too long

For it is never right to watch

the rearview mirror for too long either

 

 

Just let the present fade to the past

Moving on making future

To become the present

 

With each moment living to the fullest

Making each day something to learn from

Each lesson, growing into a better woman

 

My heart may have nicks

Cuts and scars

But each toughening me, making me stronger

 

All I have to do not let it turn me

Cynical and bitter

But let it mold me into a better lover

 

Lessons never to teach another

Things to watch for

Never making the same mistake twice

 

Live and learn

Learn and live

Eventually

 

Learning to live lovingly
